Get To The Number One Position On Google
Getting started online is now easier than ever. When I began doing business online I quickly developed an understanding of html and web design. The process of creating new web pages and promoting the code to a live server was complicated at first but got easier with time. Once I was online however, I quickly figured out that having a good design sense wasn’t enough to give me top rankings.
After I learned that good website design requires integration of SEO best practices, I was on a mission to learn more about search engine optimization principles being used by top websites and applying them to my own. It took me a good three months to learn about SEO and design principles because not a lot of good information existed on the Web. Once I understood the fundamentals, I began applying them to my own website.
Much to my dismay, nothing happened. I moved from page three on Google for specific search terms to page two. As a result I was discouraged and felt like giving up. But I couldnt give up. I had invested what little money I had into my website and knew that somehow I needed to achieve my goal of number one Google rankings.
I learned that SEO takes time. There really are no quick fixes. I also learned the proper techniques to not only find the right keywords to choose and build a site that is search engine friendly, I also discovered more than I could ever imagine about effective SEO techniques. Over time, I have expanded the techniques and continue to learn more powerful ways to boost search results. This continuous learning is necessary for search engine optimization because it is always changing.
The most valuable lesson I learned about doing business on the web, from all my research, was that the most important aspect is choosing the right niche for your site. As a factor of segmentation, you also need to choose the right keywords to optimize for. Depending on the level of competition for that keyword or keyword phrase, the promise of top rankings might be easy, or for the most competitive keywords, extremely difficult.
Build a simple website. Dont get fancy and dont try to use the latest and greatest programming language. Start with a basic website coded in html. The search engines prefer this and you can make updates easily.
After you have created your website, the next step is to make everyone aware that your site exists. By creating site popularity, your website will climb in the search results. A key factor is the Google PR of the sites linking to your site. They, in essence, transfer some of their value to you, influencing your search ranking.
In internet marketing, there are tons of professed gurus who can show you the latest techniques for number one rankings. Based on my more than ten years of marketing experience and search engine optimization efforts, Id rather keep things simple.
The good news is that although these techniques take time, they work. No more searching for the silver bullet ” keep things simple. Additionally, be sure to research software or services that can help you along the way. Don’t be afraid to get help and persist until you achieve your goal. It worked for me and it can work for you too.
